Since the beginning of 2019, Zwolle has a completely new bus station on the south side of Central Station. Every day, 1800 bus trips depart from this location. Due to the increase in the number of travelers, the original bus station on the center side grew out of its jacket. As a result, road safety also came under pressure. An important part of the new bus station is the Dynamic Traveler Information System (DRIS)<\/a> realized by Q-lite. This information system, with 4 overview displays and 20 stop displays (consisting of 52 LCD screens<\/a> in total), offers travelers up-to-date travel information<\/strong> about departing bus rides. From the pedestrian tunnel under the railway to the specific stop, the traveler is fully informed about departure times and delays.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Just like the furniture on the platforms, the design of the bus stop systems is fully in line with the train station. For example, the appearance, shape and design<\/strong> of the display systems are identical to the recognizable blue NS travel information systems.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

With Prorail as the owner of the train station, the municipality of Zwolle as the owner of the bus station and the province of Overijssel as the client, a  special situation arose. This was made even more complex by the large number of different contractors present on the site.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll in all a great challenge for our project team\u201d,<\/em> says Peter van der Waals, head of the project office at Q-lite. \u201cThe solution lies in our project approach with particular attention to stakeholder and environmental management. As a result, we are able to recognize and bring together all interests while maintaining our own project objective: a timely and successful delivery of the DRIS.\u201d<\/p>\n

This project approach<\/a> is not least due to the extensive experience that the Q-lite project team has gained at the dozens of bus stations in the Netherlands that already have a DRIS.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In consultation with the client, the display of the information on the bus stop displays has been optimized<\/strong>. For example, several templates are available with a different number of lines and character heights. In this way, the characters can be displayed larger for fewer journeys. In addition, the static bus stop letter is illuminated and fully integrated into the bus stop display, creating a single whole<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
